EQUIP-IN – Practice Involvement
The perspectives and contributions of professionals involved in providing bathing equipment and minor adaptations, such as occupational therapists, are invaluable to the success of the EQUIP-IN study.

How are practitioners involved with EQUIP-IN?
We’ve formed an insight panel of practitioners who are helping us to shape the research by providing insight from their experiences of supporting the use of equipment and minor adaptations for difficulty bathing. With their help, we’re able to understand the process of providing these services from their professional perspectives. We aim to create guidance that will help to standardise and improve the provision of bathing equipment and minor adaptations so their knowledge is vital.
What is the role of the practice insight panel?
The insight panel is working with us to co-develop each stage of the research process. The members:
- provide practice perspectives on all aspects of the research
- review and comment on study materials, including participant-facing documents
- advise on recruitment strategies and engagement approaches
- support interpretation of findings to ensure they are meaningful and accessible
- guide dissemination activities to maximise impact and reach
- act as ambassadors for the study where appropriate
It's led by our co-applicant Gemma Bradley who teaches occupational therapy at Northumbria University.
How can I get involved?
