EQUIP-IN NEWSLETTER Summer 2026 It truly feels like summer has arrived and so has the next stage of the EQUIP-IN study with the launch of our survey for local authorities. Our survey aims to map the different pathways to the provision of bathing equipment and adaptations across local authorities. This will help us to understand what the traditional pathway looks like and how some have innovated it. We worked with our insight panels (made up of practitioners and members of the public) to co-develop the survey before sending it to local authority occupational health teams. Learn more about how we’re working with our public insight panel and practice insight panel on our website (equip-in.org) What’s next? We’ll soon be starting to interview people using services to understand their experience of receiving and using bathing equipment and adaptations. Then, in the autumn, we’ll start to interview people who have self-funded changes to their bathrooms as well. It’s set to be a busy time as we’ll also be launching our prospective cohort study, to explore the cost and cost-effectiveness of equipment and adaptations, and our PhD student will be joining the team. How to Get Involved We’re asking adult social care teams to help us to understand how older adults with difficulty bathing access equipment and adaptations. To get involved, email us sbs-equip-in@york.ac.uk. For news, events and updates direct to your inbox, join our mailing list.
